My name is Hannah, and I am the owner of Luna's Loft. I often get asked a lot of questions about Luna's Loft so I thought I'd start today by answering a few of the most common ones for you.
What made you start up your own business?
I used to work as a Canine Hydrotherapist, and sadly developed an allergy to the Chlorine. I tried to work with a dermatologist for years to get around this but sadly we had no luck. So in leaving my dream job behind, I had to ask myself what I wanted to do next. I knew no ordinary job would be right for me after having worked in such a rewarding environment, which is when I decided I wanted to start working for myself!
Where did you get the initial inspiration from?
It all started because I had an account on Instagram for my girls, just for fun. Instagram is amazing for discovering unique businesses with handmade products. I would see all these amazing rope product, but at the time they were all being made in the USA. Sadly I just couldn't justify the cost of the shipping and then the customs on top. That's when I decided to make my own! It took a long time to learn but eventually I did, and following that I started getting more and more people asking me where I got them from, which is when I decided to set up Luna's Loft!
How does it all work?
Everything we provide in our shop is totally handmade, and most items are handmade to order. We don't actually start to make your products until you have purchased them! This means that your products are being made specifically for you!
Tanya Johnson: Seamstress
Tanya is my wonderful mother who has always enjoyed and been skilled at sewing. When the Luna's Loft grew in size and I found myself struggling to meet demand, Tanya kindly stepped in to help.
Rebecca Munday: Rope Master
Becca started out as one of our customers, after her first purchase she quickly became a very loyal customer. We very quickly became good friends, she joined as a rep and then she actually moved in with us! During this time of living with us Becca offered to lend a hand when needed and this is when I began to teach her the rope work. Now she makes at least half of all our rope items that go out to either you lovelies or into our show stock!
We hope that you have enjoyed learning about some of the people 'behind' the Luna's Loft brand, and that you have been interested in hearing about Hannah's story in regards to the shop.
